Bushrangers name XI for first Top End T20 match

In a rematch of last season's KFC Twenty20 Big Bash final, the DEC Bushrangers will take on the South Australian Redbacks in the opening match of the Top End T20 challenge at TIO Stadium in Darwin at 2.30pm today.

In a rematch of last season's KFC Twenty20 Big Bash final, the DEC Bushrangers will take on the South Australian Redbacks in the opening match of the Top End T20 challenge at TIO Stadium in Darwin at 2.30pm today.

The teams will use these matches as a warm up before taking off to South Africa next week to compete in the Airtel Champions League tournament.

Both squads boast a number of high calibre players with the Bushrangers including David Hussey, Brad Hodge, Dirk Nannes and Australian players Peter Siddle and Clinton McKay in their side.

The Redbacks star paceman Shaun Tait will be a worry to the Victorians, Dan Christian is in form after a successful off-season in the UK and newly appointed captain and former Victorian Michael Klinger will skipper the side.

The Victorian's will go full pace into the match, with the new ball likely to be given to Twenty20 specialist Dirk Nannes and veteran Shane Harwood who is returning to the game after a shoulder injury, flanked by  speedsters McKay and Siddle.
