Bushrangers team named for One-Day Final
Victorian selectors have named a 14-man squad for Sunday's Ryobi One-Day Cup Final against the PKF Tasmanian Tigers at the MCG.
Two changes have been made to the Bushrangers squad from their last one-day match, where they claimed a thrilling victory against the RTA Speedblitz Blues by 1-run.
Andrew McDonald has recovered from a calf injury and will return to captain the side in the final, whilst paceman Peter Siddle also returns after being rested in the previous one-day game.
Jayde Herrick, from Casey-South Melbourne, who was 13th man in the last match, misses out with the inclusions.
The DEC Bushrangers have been the stand out one-day team all season finishing on top of the table with seven wins from 10 matches on 35 points, seven points ahead of the Tigers on 28, who narrowly edged out NSW and WA to qualify for the final.
The Victorian batsmen have been the key with Brad Hodge (499) and Matthew Wade (486) the two leading run scorers for the competition both with three centuries, closely followed by Aaron Finch with 409 runs including three half centuries.
The Bushrangers will have to keep a close eye on Tigers' danger men Mark Cosgrove and skipper George Bailey, who crafted centuries of 120 and 107 runs respectively in their last clash.
Last year both teams faced off in the one-day final with Tasmania coming away with the win, comfortably depriving Victoria of the title with a 110-run victory.
Whilst the Tigers will be eyeing back-to-back titles on Sunday, the DEC Bushrangers have their hearts set on claiming the silverware that has evaded them for the past eleven years.
The last time the Victorians won the one-day title was 1998-99, despite qualifying for final the past five years.
