Forsyth's triple treat

Commonwealth Bank Bushranger Brett Forsyth has registered his third Premier Cricket century for the year to see his side Dandenong across the line at the weekend.

Opening the batting, Forsyth finished on 122 not out as the Panthers eased passed Footscray Edgewater's total of 301 with eight overs left in the day and seven wickets in hand.

The stylish hundred takes Forsyth to second on the Premier Cricket run scorer tally with 490 runs at 98.00.

In a weekend that was dominated by the bat fellow rookies Will Sheridan and Daniel Salpietro also contributed toward victory for their respective Premier teams.

Salpietro (95) fell just five runs short of triple figures as his side Prahran thumped a St. Kilda outfit that included Commonwealth Bank Bushranger Peter Handscomb (30) and former Queensland Bulls skipper Chris Simpson.

Simpson, who will turn out for the Melbourne Stars in the KFC T20 Big Bash League later this month, picked up 5-90 from 31 overs.

All-rounder Sheridan (91) was influential in his side Richmond's victory against Ringwood.

Chasing a mammoth Rams' total of 5-375(dec) the Tigers resumed day two at 1-2 after losing Bushrangers gloveman Ryan Carters for a golden duck just before the close of play on day one.

Sheridan and former Test wicket-keeper Graham Manou (123) were the main stays of Richmond's run chase, sharing in a 162-run stand that paved the way for the Tigers to reach the target with 14 balls to spare.

Manou's outstanding 123 came at a run-a-ball and comes just a week after he was the last player signed for the Melbourne Renegades.
