Gilmour and Keath star in Country Round

A half-century from Alex Keath and three wickets from Steve Gilmour were the best performances from Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers in round five of Premier Cricket.

Only seven Victorian squad members played on Saturday - which was Premier Cricket's Country Round.

Batting at number three, Keath made 56 and was the glue of Melbourne's innings as they chased St Kilda's total eight wickets down at Moama.

Gilmour dismissed top-order batsmen Damon Rowan (one) and Andrew McGuinness (one) in a damaging opening spell and then picked up Adam Ward (eight) to finish his 10 over stint with 3-26.

Ryan Carters (32 from 43) and Will Sheridan (17 from 47) shared in a 50-run opening partnership as Richmond comfortably defeated Camberwell at Warrion.

Daniel Salpietro took 2-20 from nine overs as he and former Bushranger Bryce McGain (5-30) spun out Fitzroy-Doncaster for 129 at Mooroopna.

Victorian rookie Scott Boland had a solid match for Frankston-Peninsula, making 21 and taking 1-45 from 10 overs.

Boland's wicket was fellow rookie Brett Forsyth who failed to get amongst the top run scorers for the first time this season with 15.

Forsyth is still on top in the leading run scorers with 339 runs at an average of 84.75.
