McDonald, Finch and Pattinson return
Victorian selectors have named a 12-man squad for the DEC Bushrangers' KFC Twenty20 Big Bash clash against the Retravision Warriors in Perth tomorrow.
After a demoralising loss to Tasmania, the Victorians welcome back all-rounder Andrew McDonald from injury, whilst Aaron Finch and James Pattinson return to the side after National Twenty20 duties.
Young batsman Ryan Carters makes way for Finch, Peter Siddle is unavailable due to the impending ODI series against England and Shane Harwood has been omitted from the side.
McDonald has not played since injuring his calf on the 17th December in a Sheffield Shield match against South Australia, before sustaining the injury, McDonald had taken 3-1 off just 3.3 overs. His batting and bowling will be a massive boost to the Victorian side.
Fresh from his Australian debut, Finch is another handy inclusion to the Bushrangers batting line-up.
After a blistering start to the Big Bash season, Finch's efforts were recognised with a call up to the Australian Twenty20 team. Unearthing his name as a star of the future, Finch smashed 53 from just 33 deliveries in front of his home crowd and claimed Man of the Match honours.
20-year-old Pattinson was unlucky to not make his Australian debut, carrying the drinks in both the Twenty20 Internationals. The young quick that can swing the ball will bring both pace and aggression to the Vics bowling stocks.
After two consecutive losses on the road, this match is do-or-die for the DEC Bushrangers' Big Bash campaign. Currently sitting fifth on the Big Bash table, a win is crucial for the Vics to stay in contention for the finals.
