In game three of the Bushrangers Top End Twenty20 campaign, the South Australian Redbacks again proved to be too strong claiming victory by 6 runs in a match that went to wire.

The highlight of the match for the Vics was back-up wicket keeper Ryan Carters remarkable batting display posting the team's highest individual score for the tournament of 51*.

The Bushrangers won the toss and elected to bowl in very hot conditions with young paceman James Pattinson snaring the early and important wicket of Redbacks' Captain Michael Klinger whose form has been impressive in Darwin.

Early wickets had the Bushrangers in a good position with the Bulls at 3/12 only four overs into the match but the Bulls steadied during the subsequent ten overs and posted a competitive total of 6/110, thanks to a partnership between Callum Ferguson Cameron Borgas.

Dirk Nannes took three wickets but it was young Pattinson who impressed the Bushrangers camp, picking up two with exceptional figures of 2 for 4 from two overs.

The Bushrangers experimented with a significantly different batting line-up to their previous matches with Matthew Wade and Ryan Carters opening, John Hastings in at four, Pattinson six and the skipper Hussey not coming in til eight.

Wade didn't last long making a duck, with Rob Quiney (7) and John (9) also falling cheaply. Carters was the Vics saving grace, playing clean and skilful shots to post a formidable total to keep his side in the match.

Needing 16 runs in the final over, Carters and Shane Harwood were unable to come up with the goods. The Bushrangers finished on 4/104 to be defeated by 6 runs.
