Seven Bushrangers in preliminary World T20 squad

Cricket Australia today announced its preliminary 30-player men's squad for the ICC World Twenty20 to be played in the Caribbean from late April to mid May. The men's squad is: George Bailey (TAS) Travis Birt (TAS) Doug Bollinger (NSW) Nathan Bracken (NSW) Daniel Christian (SA) Michael Clarke (NSW) Ben Cutting (QLD) Xavier Doherty (TAS) Brad Haddin (NSW) Ryan Harris (QLD) John Hastings (VIC) Nathan Hauritz (NSW) Moises Henriques (NSW) Brad Hodge (VIC) James Hopes (QLD) David Hussey (VIC) Mike Hussey (WA) Mitchell Johnson (WA) Brett Lee (NSW) Andrew McDonald (VIC) Shaun Marsh (WA) Clint McKay (VIC) Dirk Nannes (VIC) Tim Paine (TAS) Steven Smith (NSW) Shaun Tait (SA) Adam Voges (WA) David Warner (NSW) Shane Watson (NSW) Cameron White (VIC) Commenting on the men's 30-player squad, NSP Chairman Andrew Hilditch said; "The NSP has today announced Australia's preliminary 30-player squad for the ICC World Twenty20 in the Caribbean which will be reduced closer to the event. "The Australian Twenty20 team has played well in recent times with a solid win against reigning champions Pakistan and also against the West Indies at home this summer. The squad also has two matches against New Zealand over the coming days and the NSP will be watching performances closely. "We consider the squad to contain a good blend of youth and experience with several players who have excelled in Twenty20 cricket both internationally and domestically this year. "From this 30 we hope to pick a final World Twenty20 squad that if it plays to its ability will be a very exciting, entertaining and extremely competitive team in the Caribbean." The 2010 ICC World Twenty20 will be held in the Caribbean commencing on 30 April with the final on Sunday 16 May. The Australian men's team is in Group A alongside Pakistan and Bangladesh, with Australia's first pool match against Pakistan on Sunday 2 May (St Lucia) before playing Bangladesh on Wednesday 5 May (Barbados) to decide who goes through to the next round.
