Vics name squad for KFC Twenty20 Big Bash final
Fri, 22 January 2010
Victorian selectors have made several forced changes to the DEC Bushrangers’ squad for their KFC Twenty20 Big Bash final clash against South Australia at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday night. New Zealand international Ross Taylor returns home with domestic commitments while Dwayne Bravo’s hand injury will keep him sidelined for the second game in succession. Skipper Cameron White, along with pacemen Clint McKay and Peter Siddle, could not be considered due to Australian duties. David Hussey will take the reins while Glenn Maxwell and left-handers Rob Quiney and Aiden Blizzard have been included in the squad. Despite not playing a game in the preliminary rounds of this season’s competition, Blizzard has performed well previously in finals, smashing 47 off 20 balls in 2007/08, including 5 fours and 4 sixes in a memorable man-of-the-match effort. Quiney, who scored 91 off 56 in last season’s final ball loss to NSW, will also be looking to recapture his best form. He scored a double century for St Kilda at Premier Cricket level on the weekend.
