White, Rogers back for Shield final
Tue, 16 March 2010
Victorian selectors have named a 13-man squad for the DEC Bushrangers' clash against XXXX GOLD Queensland Bulls in the Weet-Bix Sheffield Shield final starting at the MCG tomorrow. DEC Bushrangers captain Cameron White comes back into the side after returning from Australia's Tour of New Zealand, while opening batsman Chris Rogers has overcome a hand injury. Lloyd Mash makes way from the 12 that beat Tasmania by an innings and 46 runs last week. The DEC Bushrangers are chasing back-to-back titles for the first time in 30 years and come up against the same opponent from last year's final, needing only a draw to retain the Shield. It's been another stellar season for the DEC Bushrangers, who made the semi-finals of the Airtel Champions League Twenty20 back in October, before going on to play all three domestic finals for a third year in a row, taking out the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash title in the process. The DEC Bushrangers have an imposing record at the MCG in recent times, winning 12 of the last 15 Shield matches they've played there, losing just once. Victoria has won 27 Sheffield Shield/Pura Cup titles overall and played in the final six of the last 10 years.
