Bio: An accurate seam bowler, McKay established himself as a regular fixture in Victoria's Sheffield Shield and Ford Ranger Cup sides in 2008/09. He claimed 33 wickets in the Shield at an average of 21.42, while taking 11 scalps in the FRC, including an outstanding spell of 3/22 off 10 overs against Queensland.
A big-hitting batsman, McKay is more than handy in the lower order, averaging 31.38 at first-class level last season.
McKay's efforts were recognised by Australian selectors who picked him for the Prime Minister's XI last year, as well as for the Australia A series against Pakistan A over the winter.
The paceman's form with the ball continued in the 2009/10 season with his strong start in the Sheffield Shield and Ford Ranger Cup earning him selection in the Australian squad. McKay made his ODI debut for Australia when called into the side during the VB Tour of India and then his Test debut came in Perth during the 3 mobile Test Series against Pakistan. A proven wicket-taker with an impressive strike rate, McKay has grown from strength to strength.
