Fighting his way back into the Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers Sheffield Shield side will be the number one focus this season for Finch, arguably one of the best limited-overs batsmen in the country.
It was a season of great contrast for Finch across the two formats, named as the RYOBI One-Day Cup Player of the Season after smashing 504 runs at an average of 84, as well as the BBL|02 Player of the Tournament, but unable to break into the Sheffield Shield after four matches that yielded 68 runs.
An Australian debut in the one-day side also accompanied his brilliant start to the limited overs season, which featured a Victorian record 154 against Queensland, as well as 140 against New South Wales.
He was unable to cement his position in the Australia one-day line-up after seven matches, despite topping the run scoring in the Australia A series against England Lions with 246 runs at 61.50, but a last-minute call up to the Indian Premier League gave Finch a chance to shine on the world stage.
A firing Finch, in both formats of the game, looms as a key component to the Bushrangers’ success in 2013-14.
