A hat-trick against traditional powerhouse Melbourne was the triggering point for Andrew Fekete's promotion to the Victorian one-day side.
The Camberwell Magpies paceman's hat-trick, which included Commonweath Bank Bushranger Alex Keath and 2004-05 Jack Ryder Medallist Simon Dart, was the highlight of his career-best haul of 7-29.
He showed the selectors' faith in him wasn't misplaced, opening the bowling in his debut match for the Bushrangers and claiming 2-42 from nine overs.
He received more plaudits when, after being hit on the foot by a powerful Theo Doropoulos off-drive, he bowled the remaining two balls of his over despite suffering from what would later be diagnosed as a broken foot.
Fekete's move after the 2009-10 season from Richmond to Camberwell had paid dividends with the right arm fast bowler taking 61 wickets at an average of 21 in his two seasons at the Magpies.
