Coming off the back of yet another great Ryobi One-Day Cup season to claim his fourth Dean Jones Medal, Hodge walked away as the tournament's highest run scorer. Posting a mammoth 560 runs in the One-Day format alone, Hodge was also named Player of the Series at the State Cricket Awards luncheon held in April.

Hodge's career numbers are without peer. He has scored the most runs in Australian Domestic One-Day (5285) and Twenty20 (919) tournaments. His 19 domestic One-Day hundreds, of which he scored three last season, is a record that will stand for a long time.

Put simply, Hodge has consistently come to the rescue of the Bushrangers - and continues to do so. Within the first four matches of the season, Hodge had already hit three centuries. Against Queensland in October, he picked up the side, threw them on his back and carried them over the line - his majestic 140, when no one else could score 30, was classic Hodge. When Victoria was struggling on an overcast day in the Final, and with the weight of four consecutive Final losses bearing heavily, it was Hodge who top scored with a rapid 61 to all but secure the title.
