After a successful 2009-10 season, in which the diminutive opening batsman was the backbone of Victoria's successful Futures League campaign, finishing as the leading run-scorer in the competition with 632 at an average of 70.22, Forsyth had a season to forget last summer.

Enduring a cricketing case of "the yips", Forsyth was dismissed for eight ducks in 16 innings with his Premier side Prahran. He enjoyed more success with the Futures League side, where his unbeaten half-century help guide the Victorians to a win against Western Australia.

Forsyth worked hard over the winter period playing for Bowdon Cricket Club, in the Greater Manchester area of the UK. Opening the batting, he hit five half-centuries and one hundred in the season.
