After a thumb injury forced him to miss the 2009-10 Shield final, Rogers' last summer was again cut short by an injury - this time knee. Restricted to only four Sheffield Shield appearances and a single One-Day match, Victoria severely missed a player of Rogers' class and experience.
The former State Player of the Year moved from Western Australia to Victoria in 2008 after ten seasons with the Warriors. Rogers continued the dominance that saw him play one Test in 2008. He broke the 1000-run barrier during the 2008-09 Shield season, hitting five centuries, including one in the Final.
The man known as 'Buck' has regained his touch with a full County season with Middlesex. Averaging in excess of fifty, the prolific opening batsman also struck two centuries.
