Greg is internationally regarded as one of the best cricket coaches in all forms of the game.
With five Victorians awarded Cricket Australia contracts and seven playing for Australia over the summer, the mastermind tactician achieved his stated objective of getting more Victorians into the green and gold.
Since taking over 2004, Shipperd has led his side on a continued run of success. Five Shield, One-Day and Big Bash finals and three Twenty20 Champions League campaigns has cemented Victoria as the number one domestic team in the country.
Shipperd was a right-hand top-order batsman and played 15 seasons of first-class cricket for Western Australian and Tasmania, as well as touring South Africa with the rebel Australian side from 1985-87.
Prior to joining Cricket Victoria, he coached Tasmania for ten years, leading the state to its inaugural first-class final. He also currently coaches Indian Premier League (IPL) side the Delhi Daredevils and the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League.
His success with the Bushrangers and in the IPL has ensured Shipperd is regarded as one of the best Twenty20 coaches in the world.
