About Mark Cleary

Nickname Ice
Date of Birth 19/07/1980
Weight 85kg
Height 187cm
Club St.Kilda
Batting Left Hand bat
Bowling Right-arm fast-medium

Cleary was given limited opportunities during the 2009-10 season but as his three wickets in the Ryobi One-Day Cup final suggest, he still has a lot to give at state level.

The talented swing bowler, who has a first-class century to his name, played five Ryobi One-Day Cup and two Sheffield Shield matches last season. In his five One-Day matches, he took six wickets and had the best economy rate of all Victorian bowlers.

Cleary has again spent the off-season playing for Excelsior 20 Schiedam in the Dutch Cricket League. Since he played his first match there in 2006, he has averaged 46 with the bat and just 13 with the ball.

Cleary grew up in Mildura but was lured across the border as a 20-year-old by former state player Jamie Siddons, making his debut in 2002-03 and going on to play eight seasons with the Redbacks.
