Rob Quiney will be out to regain the form that made him the Domestic Player of the Year in 2011-12 after a lean summer.
The summer started promisingly when he smashed 119 against Queensland in a one-day match and a call-up to the Australian side soon followed.
A Test debut was a just reward for three seasons of consistent performances but he was unable to make the most of the opportunity and upon resumption with the Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers struggled to find his best form.
It appeared the wheel had begun to turn again Quiney’s way at the tail-end of the season when he posted three consecutive scores over 40.
He took that form into a County stint with Essex where he struck a century in his first match.
The Bushrangers will need Quiney at his best, holding the top-order together, if they are to challenge for silverware in 2013-14.
