A right-arm swing bowler, Gilmour made his first-class debut late in the 2008-09 season, playing two matches for the Bushrangers and proving he has what it takes.
Consistent form with Ringwood saw Gilmour force his way back into the Bushranger line-up in the final Shield match of the 2010-11 season. He showed his talent, finishing with the match figures of 5-116.
Originally from Waaia in country Victoria, Gilmour has been a star at Premier level for the past couple of years, helping to lead the Ringwood Rams to back-to-back titles in 2007-08 and 2008-09. He was named John Scholes Medallist after tearing through Carlton in the 2008-09 final. It capped off an outstanding season where he took 46 wickets at an average of 19.28, the most in the competition. This season he has switched to Premier Club Melbourne.
