Essendon paceman Steven Reid's performances with the Futures League team during the 2010-11 season showed that the 20-year-old is a bowler of the future.
Reid claimed 18 wickets at an average of 29.8 in the Futures League competition and took 25 wickets for Essendon in Premier Cricket. Reid spent the off-season fine-tuning his skills up north, playing for the Waratahs in the Darwin & District Cricket Competition.
He has been in the selectors' sights ever since playing for Victoria in the Under-17's championship
