About Will Sheridan

Nickname Shero
Date of Birth 5/07/1987
Weight 90kg
Height 187cm
Club Richmond
Batting Left Hand Bat
Bowling Left Arm Fast Medium

Early last season, Sheridan showed why the Bushrangers rated him highly enough to recruit him from the ACT. Playing in three Shield and five One-Day matches, Sheridan looked set for a breakthrough summer. A back injury struck just before Christmas, wiping out the rest of his season.

It is a sign of Sheridan's talent, and reputation among the Bushrangers coaching staff, that he opened the batting in the first two Ryobi One-Day Cup matches. That was in a side with Matthew Wade, Brad Hodge and Ryan Carters in it - not bad for someone known as a bowling all-rounder. Still unable to bowl due to his back injury, Sheridan spent the winter playing as a batsman for Darwin in the Darwin & District Cricket Competition.

A former Australian Under-19 representative, Sheridan moved down to Melbourne late in the 2008-09 season to join the Victorian squad. In that time the left arm quick featured in Victoria's Second XI and impressed with both the bat and the ball at Premier Club Richmond.

Several strong performances in Victoria's victorious Futures League team in 2009-10 saw him pushing for selection in the first XI; he went on to make his first-class debut for the Bushrangers in a Sheffield Shield clash against New South Wales in Newcastle. Sheridan seized his opportunity on the big stage with an important half-century, showing off a glimpse of what he has to offer Victoria in the future.
